Neema turns 6 months

Half a year has passed.

Neema's wholelife, 6 months.
We are still pinching ourselves at how lucky we are to be a witness as grows.

In these last few months, we have learned a lot about our angel:
She is a tough cookie, barely winces when she gets her shots.
She sleps deep on her stomach, but you will always find her on her back with her arms splayed out to the sides, deep in her dream world in the morning.
Although she tends to seem a little serious to strangers, she smiles a lot and her giggles are contagious.
she responds to her father's voice no matter where she is and brightens up when she looks at her mom's face.
She is friendly, open to being carried by others...unless she is sleepy and/or hungry.

Tomorrow, Sept. 10th, she turns half a year...but today, we challenge her to her first meal, mashed bananas.
Like the gem she is, she enjoyed the every bite...

Playful Neema...just the beginning

Ahhh...I know, as new parents, our lives are so revolved around our little girl....WE CAN'T HELP IT!!!

Now, you may not know it from her many serious poses in her picture, but Neema rarely wakes up fussing. She's been known to EXPRESS her anger or disappointment, but it is not the norm.

Normally she wakes up, checks out her surroundings and waits. Waits for someone to discover that she is up and ready for the world. While she waits, she plays. Lately she has discovered her toes. Naturally, she can't resist her toys.

Here is a glimpse of that playful side:

Neema, sleepy-head

In true form, our daughter, following her mandate from God, 22 hours sleep-2hours wake, is often found snoozing.
At least we can say that she follows instructions well!

Sleeping beauty, catching some needed zzzzz's

We could have a rock concert blaring, and she'd still look this rested and oblivious...
what a life!!
~

"Oh!", is she getting up....

Nope, false alarm!!

Hey there she is...."Hello Princess!!"
ha ha!

Facebooking in the face of pain...

It's official, giving birth can be barbaric.
For those lucky gals that don't get "complications", God bless you!
I had 13 hours of induced labor...followed by a scare that Neema was caught in her own umbilacal cord and the realization that my cervix was not budging more than 5 cm! This was all followed by an emergency C-Section.
Not fun!
Believe it or not, Facebooking kept me calm.
The excitement, fear, anxiety that flooded through when I least expected it, was suppressed as I typed out my status on Facebook using my handy mobile phone.

Here is what was on my mind...and the minds of others reading my posts.
